I associate mundane objects with complex emotion; trivial minutes, too. I am a deep thinker and an introvert. I make mistakes. Some may even say that I am in a state of metamorphosis.

Natasha Sondakh is an award-winning Indonesian writer. Her poems have appeared in multiple literary magazines and have been recognized by the University of Iowa, Columbia University, and the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers with various regional and national medals. Natasha’s poem Lantern was displayed at the Art.Write.Now exhibition in cities across America. She has also been featured on TEDx and Nine Lives Podcast for translating Indonesian fiction in addition to serving on various editorial boards.

In April 2021, Natasha’s debut contemporary fiction novel She Smells of Turmeric was published by New Degree Press. After pre-selling over 380 copies and topping multiple Amazon bestseller categories, She Smells of Turmeric remained as a month-long No.1 Amazon New Release.

Natasha recently completed her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and is currently pursuing a finance career in New York. When she isn’t writing or working, you can find her exploring local shops, bars, and restaurants with friends. Otherwise, she will likely be crocheting or surfing Netflix for true crime documentaries.
